When I started playing bass guitar in the mid 1960′s and it was time to purchase my first bass guitar there wasn’t much of a choice. You either went into Manhattan to Manny’s Music Store and bought a big name bass or electric guitar that would have cost more than what I wanted to spend at the time, or go to my local music store and purchase the only cheap bass guitar they had in the store.

There wasn’t much of a selection back then for cheap bass guitars or cheap electric guitars. In today’s market the selection for high price and cheap electric guitars is better than ever, and the quality is exceptional also. There has never been a better time to purchase a cheap electric guitar that also comes in your favorite electric guitar packages.

Don’t Knock It Until You Have Tried It

Joe Miranda December 13, 2011

Have you ever noticed one of your favorite artists or bands constantly changing electric guitars and bass guitars on stage? Have you ever thought that they were just showing off?

The answer is no they are not. Acoustic guitars sound different than solid body electric guitars, just as different style solid body electric guitars sound different from each other. Each electric guitar is designed to produce a specific sound, making different from the rest. That is why they change so guitar packages so frequently, because each song requires a specific sound.

Thanks to cheap electric guitars and cheap bass guitars you can experience the same difference in sound at a fraction of the cost. You can start with one style electric guitar and build your collection as you go along.

Petty Differences

Joe Miranda December 9, 2011

Tom Petty is one of my all time favorite artists. You can find him as the front man for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He’s also the mastermind behind the Traveling Wilbury’s. The Traveling Wilbury’s were a super group made up By Tom and featured Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, and the late Roy Orbison and George Harrison.

One of the last concerts I saw from Tom Petty an the Heartbreakers and his display of guitar packages was most impressive. There were several styles of Fender electric guitars along with about four or five guitars made by Rickenbackers that featured two twelve string electric guitars. He used a hollow body electric guitar by Gretch and a Gibson Firebird. He also had several songs that showed off his collection of acoustic guitars. Featured was his signature Martin HD-40 acoustic guitar, along with a Guild twelve string acoustic, and his Gibson J-200. Petty terrific list of electric guitar packages and acoustic guitar packages.

Truth In Advertising

Joe Miranda December 6, 2011

I don’t know about the rest of you but sick and tired of hearing these advertisements about items being 50% off. I have heard advertising giving you 50% off along with a buy one get one free to go along with it. If these merchants can afford to drop their pricing so much, then how much is the mark-up on the item to begin with?

Electric guitar packages and bass guitar packages are priced where you will never see them on sale, that’s because they are so ridiculously low priced that they can’t be reduced anymore. When you know that the electric guitar or bass guitar you are shopping for is always at a low price there’s no reason to hurry your purchase. Now isn’t that a better way to shop.

Attention To Details

Joe Miranda December 2, 2011

In all walks of life whether their is an attention to details that we all do, but is not necessarily noticed by anyone else. How about a simple task like washing your car, if you go the extra mile and even clean your tires do you think all the details are picked up by anyone.

This can pertain to you on your job, or playing an electric guitar or bass guitar. Has this ever happened to you; you go through the tedious task of looking through many different styles and types of electric guitar packages or bass guitar packages only to pick out the right one for you. You very carefully set up your guitar packages to deliver just the right sound.  Upon playing a song you mistakenly play a few wrong notes but continue to play as if you didn’t, at the end of the song the people around you applaud you for playing that song and never pick up on the fact you played wrong notes. The point that I’m trying to bring out is unless the people who are listening to you are guitar players too it’s a good chance they won’t even notice.

Multiple Gifts With One Purchase

Joe Miranda November 30, 2011
Are you undecided on what to get somebody for the holidays this year? How would you like to give multiple gifts to someone with the purchase of one?

Guitar packages are short for electric guitar packages, bass guitar packages, and acoustic guitar packages. Each guitar package contains the guitar of your choice, be it a bass or electric guitar or possibly an acoustic guitar. Along with the guitar of your choice is a guitar amplifier or bass amplifier according to which type of guitar you pick, and yes there is a difference. Those two items alone are enough, but there’s more. The guitar pack includes a guitar stand, case, tuner, and guitar polish and cloths.

How’s Your Acoustics

Joe Miranda November 24, 2011
Most people new to the guitar world opt to purchase electric guitars without even thinking about acoustic guitars. I guess in the world of rock it is more glamorous to them to own electrics rather than acoustic guitars.
Acoustic guitar packages come fully equipped with everything you need to start your music career and they offer one very important thing, they can be played with or without a guitar amplifier. If they ever stopped to actually look at an acoustic guitar they would see the beauty of the craftsmanship that goes into one of these guitars. From the inlays around the sound hole to the contrasting binding on the edge of the top it is plain to see an electric guitar is no match for the overall beauty of an acoustic guitar.

Everybody’s A Critic

Joe Miranda November 17, 2011

When it comes to electric guitars and bass guitars everybody’s a critic, especially on the Internet. Everyone wants to tell you that the cheap electric guitars that you are looking at are no good, when the opposite is actually true.

New York Pro Guitars and Stadium Guitars are what you would call cheap electric guitars. What makes them cheap is the fact that they don’t cost a lot, and they are not made by one of the high dollar guitar manufacturers. While this may be true the word cheap only applies to the fact that they don’t cost a lot. Many people have tried these electric guitars and found they are really quite well made. There finish equals that of a high dollar guitar, and if it;s an exact duplicate that you are looking for there are some people who purchased these guitars and replaced the electronics with that of a Fender and for a fraction of the cost have a high quality electric guitar.

Distinctive Sounds

Joe Miranda November 16, 2011

The first thirty years of rock were the best in my opinion, and I think in most of yours. The early years there was a lot of use of semi-hollow electric guitars, like the Memphis Jazz made by Glen Burton Guitars.

Many of the bands had a distinctive sound, a sound that was identifiable just to them. The Beatles were at the top of the list, mot only were they first when it came to their electric guitars and bass guitar sound they were one of the first with outstanding vocal harmonies not heard since the late fifties with The Everly Brothers. Another distinctive band was Pink Floyd. Their electric guitar sound was and still is like no other, it’s like they were dropped off from another planet.

What Does It Take

Joe Miranda November 14, 2011

Do you play electric guitar? Have you ever given any thought to what it takes to start a band? The answer is really quite simple.

The biggest thing that you need is a deep love for music, that mixed with cheap electric guitars and cheap bass guitars are all you need. If you want to go a little bit deeper you really need electric guitar packages and bass guitar packages, someone playing drums, and someone on vocals. When I say vocals all you need is someone who can carry a tune, and don’t think it has to be someone who just sings, it can be one of the guitarists in your band. If your fortunate enough to have more than one person who can sing and play you can have a great back-up sound as well.

Let the public tell you if you are good enough, and believe me they will. Don’t get me wrong most people don’t care if you play every note right, they don’t care if you’re playing on cheap electric guitars, nobody really notices. The only thing they care about is if the music sounds good.
