If your looking to start a musical career playing electric guitar and don’t have a lot of money to purchase a guitar, don’t feel embarrassed, it starts with cheap electric guitars. Now I don’t know what age group your in but in my day most of your top band members who are all top names today started with a cheap guitar.

When I say cheap guitars you should see some of the electric guitars they started out with, today things are different, a new cheap guitar is only as cheap as you want to spend. Some of the cheaper guitars are real good for those who are starting out. If you want to spend more you can still but a cheap guitar but these will last you a good long time, some you won’t mind even playing gigs with.

Peer Presure

Joe Miranda July 23, 2010

There’s no denying it everything about electric guitars is hot, practicing or playing gigs there’s just something about playing guitar. Too many times someone just starting out is influenced by something they have read on the Internet about a guitar made by some other manufacturer with a lesser, or no name, rather than a Fender or Gibson electric guitar.

These cheap electric guitars as they are referred to are anything but cheap if they just gave them a chance. If you look hard enough on the Internet you might even find quite favorable articles about these electric guitars. The same thing applies to bass guitars, and acoustic guitars. Don’t be swayed by peer pressure when it comes to purchasing your guitar, just because a guitar is not made by a top name doesn’t make it a bad instrument.

Try Two And Call Me In The Morning

Having two cheap electric guitar packagesis better than having one real good very expensive guitars. Most people who own a really good name electric guitar are afraid to take it anywhere. This is because if it gets damaged they would have a difficult time replacing it.

It is for this reason they opt to pick up                          cheap electric guitars for practice and even play at at gigs. While doing this they make a very important discovery, the so called cheap electric guitar plays not so cheap, if you get what I mean. Three such electric guitar manufacturers are New York Pro guitars, Stadium guitars, and Glen Burton guitars, guitar players are finding out that these electric guitars are just as good as their very expensive guitar, and most say they would replace them f something were to happen to them.

A Good Alternative

Are you one of the many peoplewho play electric guitars made by one of the high end guitar manufacturers like Fender and Gibson? Are you also afraid to bring your electric guitar somewhere because of the threat of it being damaged? Have you ever considered purchasing one of the many style cheap electric guitars by a lesser known company?

If you answered yew to any or all of these your are not alone, just look at reviews on the Internet. Many people are trying to protect their top of the line electric guitar by choosing a cheap electric guitar. One of the greater rewards for doing this is when you find a knock-off company like New York Pro guitars or Stadium guitars that are every bit as good as your top of the line model. Reading reviews on these fine instruments many said that if something happened to their New York Pro guitar they would immediately go out and buy another one.

All Guitarists Have One

Joe Miranda July 6, 2010

Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or professional everybody has a cheap electric guitar in their collection.  Cheap electric guitars are what got us started in the first place.

When you watch the professionals play all you see is the high end, high tech (depending on who you are watching), but if you look to their roots you will find an electric guitar that perhaps you wouldn’t even want to play it’s that cheap looking, but that’s what they got started with. It makes me laugh sometimes when I read comments on electric guitars because some guys just don’t get it, if it’s not made by one of the top brand manufacturers then it’s just no good. I’ve read them bash an electric guitar manufacturers that they never heard of.

I guess the point I’m trying to get across is if you like it buy it, you can always upgrade later.

Bass Guitars For The Beginners

Joe Miranda July 2, 2010

When I started playing bass guitar in the mid 60’s cheap bass guitars were a great entry level towards owning your own guitar. There are many advantages to starting off with cheap bass guitars.

When you first start out playing bass guitar not only are you learning how to play bass, but your also learning about the bass guitar itself, how to tune it, and how to care for it. With every new experience there is going to be mistakes made, this again goes for both learning to play and caring for your instrument. If you were to start out with a bass guitar that costs thousands of dollars and you would be very made at yourself if you did something that would let’s say hurt the finish of it, you would be reminded of it every time you pick it up. I know experienced guitar players that own Gibson’s and Fender’s, and who also have cheap electric guitars that they take with them on gigs. They do this one because the cheap bass guitar is as good as the more expensive one, when they get done with it, and also if something were to happen they would rather it happen to the cheaper guitar than the more expensive one.

I hope you like the title for this blog because I think it is quite funny too. All to often I either hear it or read it that just because some electric guitars aren’t made by Fender or Gibson they are considered cheap electric guitars and are no good.

Would you like to know what makes them cheap electric guitars, the price. That’s right I said the price. First of all, not everybody has thousands of dollars to spend on a high end electric guitar, second of all, have you checked out the quality of the knock-off brands guitars, they just might surprise you. These so called cheap electric guitars range in price and the higher price you are willing to spend will get you an electric guitar with a finish that’s just as good as those top brands, in fact they are so good some people take this cheaper guitar and fit if with pick-ups, and volume controls of a Fender, for just a fraction of what it would cost you coould wind up with a cheap electric guitar with that sounds like you paid thousands.

Make It Personal

Do you think  custom electric guitar package are only available to professional guitar players. What if I told you that with a little imagination you turn cheap electric guitars into your own custom guitars.

The original lead guitarist for Chicago was Terry Kath, he played a Fender Telecaster electric guitar however,  he customized it by having one pick-up from Fender, and for the second pick-up he installed a Gibson pick-up. He did this so he could switch between the sound of a Fender and Gibson guitar.

Customization can mean allot of things, it could be putting a certain electric guitar with a different amplifier to some, while to others it can mean something totally different.

Guitar Firsts

Joe Miranda May 7, 2010

Cheap electric guitarsare a necessity in the music industry. Everyone has to start somewhere and it is too costly to begin your music career by purchasing top of the line equipment.

The Internet is a great vehicle to research your favorite guitarist, chances are they started on a cheap electric guitar or possibly even on a no bells and whistles acoustic guitar.

In today’s market you have a big advantage, the so called cheap guitars are probably made better than allot of your big name guitar players had at the start. A big advantage to buying an inexpensive guitar now is you get to know what you like and dis-like about it, so when you’re ready to step up to a better guitar hopefully you will be better educated as to what you might want.

A Change of Pace

This piece is on a man who sounds good playing an acoustic guitar as well as an electric guitar. Now I’m not a big fan of country, I can listen to some songs but can’t listen to allot of it.

This man rewrote the book on country by giving it a sound that’s easier to take and now known as the Nashville sound. In fact I can listen to this man all day long and not get tired of him.

His finger picking style was an inspiration to other guitarists from Les Paul to Merle Travis. He has made records with the Everly Brothers, Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings and a host of other performers.

He’s one 14 Grammy Awards as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award, nine times he has won the Country Music Association award for Instrumentalist of the Year.

Gretsch has an entire line of electric guitars and bass guitars named after this gentleman. I dare you to just listen once to this man play then tell me your not a fan.

The name of this great man is Chet Atkins.
