Did you know that guitar packages are for everyone. That’s right, no matter what your skill level is, it doesn’t matter what it is a bass guitar, electric or acoustic guitar there is a guitar package for you.
There are guitar packages with jazz guitars, for those of you that like that style, as well as acoustic guitar packages for players who like to play unplugged, and of course we haven’t excluded bass guitar players, there are bass guitar packages designed just for you.
If you already own a electric guitar and amp and are thinking guitar packages are not for me than think again, purchasing another guitar package is a way to increase you sound by picking up a style of guitar you don’t have, and don’t forget the additional guitar amplifier, it can be used as a pre-amp.
I am very fortunate because in one of my first bands there was a guy who played tenor saxophone, while I played bass guitar, and this guy had perfect pitch. When I say perfect pitch, I mean perfect pitch, you can ask this guy to stand on the other side of the room with his back turned towards you and my brother who was on keyboards would play a chord, this guy would not only tell you the notes, he would also tell you what succession they were played.
Now back in the 60’s I used a pitch pipe to tune my bass, and inevitably when you play sometimes you go out of key, having this guy was a blessing, because whenever we would play a gig and you would go out of tune he would assist on tuning you up, which made the task very easy.
Not everyone is going to run across someone like this, that’s why you need to find bass guitar packages that include an electronic tuner to help you tune your bass or electric guitar.
Most people being new to the world of electric guitars will probably say, what is guitar packages? What are guitar packages all about? After finding out about them they will say, Where can I get one?
Guitar packages can be found in electric guitar packages, bass guitar packages, and even acoustic guitar packages. Besides getting the guitar of your choice, along with the guitar amplifier of your choice you will also get a gig bag, guitar stand, guitar tuner, guitar polish and rags, and of course guitar strap and guitar chord. The prices can range according to how much you want to spend. It’s that unusual for guitar players to have more than one guitar package, like an electric and acoustic guitar package.
If it’s value you are looking for look search for guitar packages, electric guitar packages, bass guitar packages, or acoustic guitar packages on the Internet.
Practicing bass guitar which is what I was trained on since I was a teenager, is no different than someone playing and electric guitar, or even acoustic guitar. I have found through the years that playing guitar is a lot like life itself, you have good days, bad days, and days that are down right ugly.
For me I’m happy to say at least to date that most days are good days. I define good days as days that I not only listen to the music I am playing, but I also feel the music. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not saying I don’t have bad days because I do. For me a bad day is one that I am listening to the music but not necessarily feeling it. Of course life wouldn’t be complete without those ugly days, you know the ones, for me it is the ones I don’t hear or feel the music, those are the days my practice sessions are very short.
If I find myself having a few of those ugly days in a row I will try changing something like using a different bass amplifier or anything else that would give me new bass guitar packages that would change my sound and increase my awareness.
There’s nothing quite as distinctive as that bass guitar sound, and for that reason, it has been utilized in rock bands and popular bands for decades. Some of the most famous recording artists of our day (and yesterday) include players of the bass and electric bass guitar. If you’re not convinced that bass guitars create charismatic and noted musicians, just think of Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Epitomizing the 90s rock sound, he is considered by many to be one of the most talented bass guitarists around.
Going a bit farther back in music history, there is also Paul McCartney of The Beatles. While their music ranged from love ballads to rock anthems, McCartney’s skill with a bass guitar always stood out. And who can forget John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin or Jack Bruce of Cream? Both these men brought their own unique style and musical tastes to the iconic instrument. But the list is not completely dominated by men. Female rockers have also rocked the bass guitar, including Kim Deal of the noted alt rock band The Pixies.
Stratocasters, telecasters, SG, LP, jazz, these are just a few of the better known styles of electric guitars. Precision, jazz, LP, and violin or “Beatle Bass” are just a few styles of bass guitars.
After you have chosen what style of bass, or electric guitars it is time to team it up with the bass amplifiers or guitar amplifiers that are available. Most people wold stop there thinking they have everything they need, but the guitar and amp is just the beginning of what you need.
When you were purchasing your guitar did you think about how you would transport it from one place to another, or if you were playing it and wanted to set it down somewhere, without a stand where would you put it. How about tuning your new guitar, without a tuner how would you go about that. How about an elementary thing like a guitar strap, would you think about picking one up. These things and more are why you should be looking for either electric guitar packages, or bass guitar packages.
Since the 1950’s bass guitars have pretty much taken over for the stand-up bass or double bass as they were called. The roll of the bass has not changed, simply put acts as an anchor for the music, as well as keeping the beat.
Although there are many different genres of music, as well as different bass lines the role remains the same. It’s easy to identify with the electric guitar while listening to music, while the bass guitar sometimes takes some concentration to hear, I guess that’s what fascinates me about the bass.
The standard bass guitar has four strings, and there are some with five strings. There are bass guitars with six or more strings but the ones played most are the four and five strings.
The bass guitar can be a lethal weapon in the hands of someone who knows how to play it, like Geddy Lee of Rush. His proven style of play has influenced the likes of Cliff Burton of Metallica, and Steve Harris of Iron Maiden.
In the beginning Leo Fender produced the Precision Bass guitar. It was simple in design and had a powerful bass sound that could not be achieved by the stand up basses at that time.
After much thought by 1960 Fender had come up with the design of the Jazz bass. The comparison had been made that if the p-bass was a Chevrolet than the j-bass is a Ferrari.
By design the j-bass guitars had a larger body making it heavier, a longer thinner neck, and an off set waist line which at the time was designed more with jazz bassist in mind who would normally be seated while they were playing. Another notable difference is the p-bass guitar had one pick-up while the j-bass employed two, the neck pick-up contributed the lows while the bridge pick-up would give you more trebly sound.
I have always favored the jazz bass guitar because of the different sounds that it could achieve. Today j-basses are available in bass guitar packagesis a wide variety of colors.
Do you own an electric guitar? Do you have a guitar amplifier? If you have both of these items then that is your electric guitar package.
You might have purchase your equipment separately not knowing that you can purchase entire electric guitar packages that contain everything you need plus more.
Guitar packages are a convenient way to get everything you need at one time for less cost and less hassle. You can find packages in most every style electric guitar, and if you want to broaden your scopes there are bass guitar packages as well as acoustic guitar packages.
Having several style guitars gives your sound many options, and if you getting you second or more package it’s always a good thing to have a back up amp if your playing a gig. Another thing you might try is using one of you guitar amplifiers as a preamp to enhance your sound.
“For Once In My Life” is a song written in 1967 but the most popular version of this song almost was never published. This song has been covered by so many artists, (all done basically as a ballad ) , when it was changed to an upbeat tempo the recording was shelved.
The song was covered by Nancy Wilson, The Temptations, Frank Sinatra, Gladys Knight and the Pips and Tony Bennett who enjoyed moderate success with the song. Stevie Wonder’s version opens with the strumming of an electric guitar to an upbeat tempo that is joined after a few bars by the incomparable bass guitar of James Jamerson. Here was a bass player that didn’t rely on an upgraded bass guitar packages, he played a stock Fender bass. The two guitars compliment the voice of Stevie Wonder quite nicely and is by far the best and most popular version of the song.
Controlling Motown in the late 60’s was Berry Gordy who did not like Stevie’s version that had been recorded in 1967 and put it on the shelf. In 1968 Berry was talked into releasing the song by Billie Jean Brown who worked at Motowns’ Quality Control Dept. at that time.
When released the song peaked at #2 on the Billboard charts and was highly successful, ( Way to go Berry ).
