Why Do You Play Guitar
Joe Miranda March 11, 2010
Why do you play guitar? What was it that made you choose bass guitar, or acoustic guitar over electric guitar?
I grew up during the British invasion, and particularly Paul McCartney and his inventive bass guitar riffsinspired me to learn bass guitar. Many of the guys I have played with were inspired by the uplifting sounds that Jimi Hendrix got out of his upside down Fender Strat electric guitar being played through a Marshall guitar amplifier along with various effects pedals.
Even in todays’ time people find themselves influenced by an artist of old or new that makes them say I think I can play that. Some people decide to play guitar because they enjoy listening to music so much they want to learn how to play it.
