Stay In Your Element

Joe Miranda September 30, 2010

Everyone that listens to music is attracted to different bands for different reasons. In every band you will find electric guitars playing outstanding solos or just rhythm, bass guitars and the musicians behind them who hold the whole song together, and of course vocalists.

After rock and roll was on the move in the 60′s many of the singers my dad use to listen to would cover a song made popular by one of the many rock bands emerging at that time. This was OK I guess with some of the songs but sometimes they would try and reconstruct a song to their own style and that is what I hate. The same thing goes for bands now-a-days. Have you ever heard a band rework a song for their band, to me that’s when the music fails. Can you imagine a band like ZZ Top with their hard rock electric guitar sound doing a slow ballad made famous by another band, I don’t think so. It’s nice when a band recognizes the music that has made them famous and sticks with it.

Glen Burton Guitars

Joe Miranda September 29, 2010

When someone is looking to purchase an electric guitar they immediately think of Fender or Gibson electric guitars. Now there’s nothing wrong with this way of thinking however once you check out the price tags you have to start thinking about other guitars.

There are many knock-off brands of guitars that won’t break the budget, guitars that are made well enough to give you service for a very long time. I have found one of these brands, Glen Burton guitars have a good finish, good action, and best of all won’t break the bank. In fact if you look around the Internet you will find Glen Burton guitars in electric guitar packages which is even a greater value.

Electric Guitars Are The Favorite

Joe Miranda September 28, 2010

Whenever someone is just thinking about starting to play a musical instrument their first choice is always an electric guitar. Listening to rock it’s easy to understand since most songs feature electric guitars as the lead instrument, playing out of this world guitar solos, or just playing rhythm.

Bass guitars are like the forgotten sons of rock, until people fully understand music and really hear what the bass guitar is all about. Armed with cheap bass guitars and the knowledge of how to play it, you too can add spice to any band that you play with. Listen to bands like Rush, The Beatles, Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd just to name a few, and you will find some great bass guitar playing in back of those electric guitars.

Pricing Can Be Deceiving

Joe Miranda September 27, 2010

If you are in the market for a new electric guitar than you are in for a real treat as well as a beg surprise. Most people think that you have to spend a lot of money to purchase a good quality electric guitar, well they are wrong.

If you take a look at the cheap electric guitars that are for sale you will find a whole host of styles, finishes, and prices. As with many other things in life there are varying degrees of pricing, even on these cheap electric guitars. If you are a player and play gigs you will want to spend more than someone that is just starting out, but what you will get is a guitar that you can’t do without, and you will wonder why you never looked at these electric guitars before.

If you do any research on the Internet you will find the Stadium guitars are built so fine that if something were to happen to it they would definitely replace it.

The Perfect Balance

Joe Miranda September 26, 2010

Being a teenager at the time I am a product of the great music that came out of the 60′s, however I am also into music of the 70′s and 80′s.  I guess you can say I am a great fan of electric guitars and bass guitars. I liked most bands while disliking very few.

My favorite bands are the bands that seem to have the perfect balance. Between the bass guitar, electric guitar, vocals, and back-up vocals, any one of characteristics is great in a band but when a band has all of thos traits it becomes one of my favorites. A few bands that come to mind are The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles of course, and the Doobie Brothers.

It Just Isin’t The Same

Joe Miranda September 25, 2010

We all have our favorite rock and roll bands. Likewise we all have our favorite bass guitar players as well as electric guitar players. Along with this we all have our favorite songs by our favorite bands played by our favorite musicians.

Have you ever heard your favorite band try and cover a song made famous by another band? Depending on who they are most of the times you find it was better by the original band. With their custom electric guitar packages you would think that they could play anything and sound good, but the truth is I can get a group of guys with cheap electric guitars to sound the same or perhaps even better. The point I am trying to make is these bands made it playing their own songs and they should stick to them.

Something Out Of Nothing

Joe Miranda September 24, 2010

Listening to rock and roll there’s nothing in this world like a terrific electric guitar solo to get our juices flowing. Being a bass guitar player for me it goes even farther than that.

When I listen I automatically tune in to the bass, and the bands that I love the most are the bands with a bass player that can make something out of nothing. By that I mean bass guitars can get away with just playing root notes, but their are certain bass players that fill the air with a barrage of low tones that like the electric guitar solos make rock the best music of all time.

The Sounds Of Music

Joe Miranda September 23, 2010

How many times do you listen to music? Let me rephrase that, how many times do you really listen to the music?

When it comes to rock and roll nothing, and I mean nothing beats  electric guitars. Just looking at an electric guitar you can hear those terrific guitar solos that just scream out rock an roll. For pure listening pleasure electric guitars can’t compete with acoustic guitars. Playing an acoustic guitar through a guitar amplifier just amplifies the soft tones that are emitted from this terrific guitar. Whether it’s being strummed while playing chords or being finger picked it’s a sound that can’t be achieved with an electric guitar.

It’s My First Choice

Joe Miranda September 22, 2010

When people tell me they want to start playing guitar and ask me, should I get an electric guitar or an acoustic guitar? My answer to them is to go with the acoustic electric guitar as a first choice.

This choice holds true especially if your not sure if you are going to like playing the guitar. Besides the fact that it can be play with or without a guitar amplifier it is my opinion that by spending a little bet of money you will get an acoustic guitar that is exquisitely finished. When you are looking at acoustic guitars take time to look at the inlays from the boarder to the sound hole to the fret, you don’t find that on electric guitars. Don’t overlook purchasing an acoustic guitar packages, with it you will get everything you need including a guitar amplifier to increase your playing options.

What’s Your Excuse

Joe Miranda September 21, 2010

Playing bass guitar for most of my life there has been countless times when someone has said to me I always wanted to play the electric guitar. The excuses have been too numerous to go into all of them, but the one that got to me most often was that a guitar coast too much.

Back then there were always cheap electric guitars as well as cheap bass guitars. In today’s market it’s even more so. There are many more manufacturers today of knock-off guitars with the difference being the quality of these bass guitars and electric guitars far surpasses what the old idea of a cheap electric guitar.
