Acoustic Guitar Statistics

Joe Miranda April 23, 2010

Are you interested in purchasing an acoustic guitar? Here are some facts to ponder about guitars before you start looking around.

The definition of someone who makes repairs to, or builds acoustic guitars from scratch is an acoustic guitar luthier. Did you know that there are over 53 thousand acoustic guitar luthiers.

A luthier will make one instrument at a time of the highest quality, however that quality comes at a cost. A single guitar can cost thousands into the tens of thousands of dollars. I realize this amount is to great especially for a starter or intermediate guitarist. Even if you are a highly skilled guitar player that still is much more than you would want to spend on a guitar.

Another alternative is to purchase an acoustic guitar that is mass produced by one of the many companies out there. Keep in mind the pricing for a guitar with a name like Fender or Gibson is still a pricey proposition. One more option is to check out the upgraded acoustics from a manufacturer like NY Pro. The finish on this guitar is comparable to the ones two or three times the price of this one. It features some really nice inlays along with a 5 band equalizer with phase and chorus options along with its gorgeous quilted maple top.
