The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is for the very best artists in rock and roll. It has been in existence since 1986 and has a very impressive list of members.
From Buddy Holly who practically invented the modern day band as we know it, using an electric guitar, bass, and drums, to The Beatles with their influence on music that is still felt today, to AC/DC featuring Angus Young strutting his stuff while playing his custom Gibson SG electric guitar all around the stage.
One band I would truly like to see inducted to the Hall is Deep Purple. How can the band with one of the most recognizable riffs in all music as in the song “Smoke On The Water” not be in, they should be in just base on that song alone.
Someone else that deserves to be in is Mark Knofler and Dire Straits. Probably the best guitar player today, whether he’s playing an electric or acoustic guitar his easy going finger-picking style is the best. He has played with all the greats from Chet Atkins to Eric Clapton. Someone that talented has to be in the hall sometime.
