Great Time For Guitars

Joe Miranda April 5, 2010

The Beatles and the British invasion in the 60′s made playing electric guitar the thing to do along with starting a band. When it comes to music in general the 80′s was one of the greatest eras of all time.

The 80′s saw many bands rise to fame, it also had some pretty decent movies. One band to hit it high in the 80′s is Def Leppard, with some great albums like “Pyromania” and “Hysteria” they single handedly led the way for would-be musicians with guitar amplifiers raised to the levels that were used with many of the stadium rock bands of that time.

!980 gave us a movie that will last forever by the name of “The Blues Brothers”. This movie featured songs by some great artists like James Brown, Ray Charles, and Cab Calloway, as well as The Blues Brothers Band. This band was assembled with bits and pieces of other bands but for me the stand out is Donald “Duck” Dunn formerly from Booker T & the MG’s playing bass guitar.
