There are some songs that have been written that scream out to be played on an acoustic guitar. Of course they can be played with an electric guitar but it just wouldn’t have the same tone to it.
“And I Love Her’ a song written and performed by The Beatles is one of those kind of songs. Using two chords on the intro F#m & E6, four chords on the verse F#m C#m A B7, and four chords on the middle C#m B G#m B7 all played at an easy pace that makes it a great song especially if your just starting out on guitar.
Another song is by a very talented singer songwriter JD Souther. Being a friend of Glen Fry of The Eagles he collaborated on such Eagles hit songs as “Best Of My Love”, “New Kid In Town”, and “Heartache Tonight”. He also collaborated on many of Linda Ronstadt’s songs as well as sang back up on them. In 1979 he had a hit song “You’re Only Lonely”, and like The Beatles song cries out to be played acoustically, A F#m D E are the only chords needed for this song. Happy Strumming.
