What Does It Take

Joe Miranda November 14, 2011

Do you play electric guitar? Have you ever given any thought to what it takes to start a band? The answer is really quite simple.

The biggest thing that you need is a deep love for music, that mixed with cheap electric guitars and cheap bass guitars are all you need. If you want to go a little bit deeper you really need electric guitar packages and bass guitar packages, someone playing drums, and someone on vocals. When I say vocals all you need is someone who can carry a tune, and don’t think it has to be someone who just sings, it can be one of the guitarists in your band. If your fortunate enough to have more than one person who can sing and play you can have a great back-up sound as well.

Let the public tell you if you are good enough, and believe me they will. Don’t get me wrong most people don’t care if you play every note right, they don’t care if you’re playing on cheap electric guitars, nobody really notices. The only thing they care about is if the music sounds good.

Guitar Flexibility

Joe Miranda November 11, 2011

Do you own and play electric guitars? Do you perhaps play bass guitars? Do you play and own either electric guitar packages or bass guitar packages? Have you ever thought about playing both?

Playing electric guitar or bass guitar by itself is a great thing but the ability to play both is even better. I can tell you from experience it gives you and the band that you are playing with flexibility. I am not the best bass guitar player in the world, but by no means am I the worst. As far as playing electric guitar I am OK, I know enough to get by. There was a time in the 1960′s when I was part of a jazz band with the lead instrument being a tenor saxophone. We had someone on keyboards while I played bass along with having the lead singer role. We had some songs where I would switch of bass guitar and play electric guitar while the guy playing sax would play my bass guitar. If we didn’t have the flexibility we wouldn’t have been able to play those extra songs.

Guitar Packages Make Sense

Joe Miranda November 10, 2011
When you purchased that electric guitar did it come with a stand or a case? How about a guitar amplifier or a bass amplifier if you purchased a bass guitar, or a guitar tuner.

Those are a few of the things that are included in guitar packages when you pick one of them up. Guitar packages come in electric guitar packages, bass guitar packages, and acoustic guitar packages. They came be obtained with different size amplifiers for both bass and guitar. Guitar packages make great gift ideas because everything you need comes in one package, so whoever is receiving the gift only has to tune it and play it.

Easy Songs To Learn

Joe Miranda November 9, 2011
Let’s face it when you’re new to playing guitar, and it doesn’t matter if you like playing electric guitars or acoustic guitars, there are lots of easy songs that you could be playing. Keep one thing in mind, there is no substitute for learning the basics, it’s just that sometimes the basics can be a bit boring.
Do you like Eric Clapton, so do I, with just a few simple chords you could be playing “Wonderful Tonight. How about “Hotel California” by the Eagles, you could be playing this great song also. “Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley is another easy song that you can play on guitar.
You will be surprised how great these songs will sound, when being played on cheap electric guitars by you. Remember practice down’t have to be boring, incorporate a few easy songs into it to add some spark.

It’s Never The Same

Joe Miranda November 8, 2011

Cheap electric guitars and cheap bass guitars are where everyone starts out at one time or another. It’s nice to try and emulate your favorite rock stars by playing the same style electric guitar as they play, and play the same way that they play.

Would you be surprised if I tell you that they don’t play a song the same way twice. Sure they come close but playing on stage something is always different. There are intangibles that make them play different each time, and there changes are not even visible to the public.  So remember when you are practicing with your electric guitar made by New York Pro Guitars that you don’t have to be letter perfect when you are playing a song.

Do you know what the difference is between a professional and an amateur? A professional knows how to cover up his mistakes. This is true in such things as woodworking and playing bass guitar. I’m sure the same is true of many other professions, but I’m only touching upon the ones that I am familiar with.

I am a professional woodworker, meaning that I make money building cabinets and furniture. I have also taken my bass guitar packages and played music professionally, meaning that I have gotten paid to do that. Let’s face it mistakes happen, in woodworking you might have an errant nail hit a void and pop out where it is not suppose to, in music you might hit a wrong note while playing bass guitar. In woodworking there are several fixes for most mistakes, in music whether your playing bass guitar like me or electric guitars the thing to do is not stop. Most people won’t realize you hit the wrong note, so keep on playing.

Guitar Knowledge

Joe Miranda November 6, 2011

Sometimes in life things aren’t always what they appear to be. This can apply to an object, or to people. Sometimes it’s a question of being in the right place at the right time.

Just because there are people out there who play electric guitars or bass guitars professionally, don’t think that they are the only ones who know anything about guitars. You would be surprised at how many people out there can not only play like a professional, but have a a vast knowledge of electric guitar packages.

I have seen so called professional guitarists who are professionals just because they happen to be in a band that already has a name. This has happened in punk rock, I don’t remember the band but they needed a bass guitar player and the player they selected had no prior knowledge of playing bass, however he had the overall look they were looking for. I have also come across people in the construction field who can play electric guitar much better than some I have seen on stage.

It Takes All Kinds

Joe Miranda November 3, 2011

If you were a professional you would have many different guitar packages to cover the many different songs and sounds that you have. Of course bass guitar players have their bass guitar packages and guitar players have their electric guitar packages and quite possibly an acoustic guitar package.

The reason for the many guitar packages is as I stated before you need certain packages for a particular type of sound. The idea of having different sounds isn’t only available to the pros, you too can achieve this via cheap electric guitars and cheap bass guitars. They are an affordable solution to those of us who are monetarily challenged, and who isn’t in these economic times.

In The Beginning There Was Only Three

Joe Miranda November 2, 2011

Despite everyone telling him you couldn’t achieve a complete sound with only a three piece band Buddy Holly showed the world they were wrong. Equipped with just a double bass, a set of drums, and an electric guitar, and an arsenal of songs he single handily made rock and roll a force to be reckoned with.

Expanding on Buddy’s original idea using two electric guitars and changing the double bass for a bass guitar The Beatles brought rock and roll to limits that would stand the test of time. The electric guitar packages of the bands that followed varied, with some using Buddy’s recipe of one electric guitar like Rush, to two and sometimes even three electric guitars like The Doobie Brothers.

The Entertainment Value

Joe Miranda October 31, 2011

Have you been looking into playing guitar?  Learning how to play bass guitar or electric guitar can be a beneficial asset to you in many ways. Yes learning electric guitar, bass guitar, or even acoustic guitar can be very rewarding hobby alone, or hobby that turns into a money maker.

Cheap electric guitars make playing guitar an affordable hobby. If you are young and just starting out it is an art that you will take with you for the rest of your life. It is something that you might and probably will share with your children. When you get older, or if you are starting out when you are older there is a self entertainment value that is hard to put a price on, like when you’re in the middle of one of those days when there is nothing to do, all you have to do is pick up your guitar and start playing. What I do is just put on some music and join in.
