The Acoustic Electric Guitar

Joe Miranda October 6, 2011

Acoustic electric guitars are incredible instruments, the sound you get from this kind of guitar is a sound that you can’t achieve from a solid body electric guitar. They are essentially an acoustic guitar with amplification.

This is done by incorporating a little microphone, normally at the bridge. It is able to amplify the vibrations made by the hollow body, something the pick-ups of a solid body electric guitars can’t do. The electrified sound that you hear is sent to a preamplifier before it goes to a guitar amplifier, this is done by a built-in equalizer with volume and tone controls. These equalizers can control up to six frequencies.

Acoustic guitar packages give you an acoustic guitar along with an a guitar amplifier, and all the additional guitar accessories you might need. Keep one thing in mind even with cheap electric guitars you get what you pay for, meaning the more money you spend the better the equalizer. Along with the better equalizer you will find the inlay work will be more detailed. When you compare acoustic guitars to electric guitars you will see for yourself the added workmanship in the bindings and inlays.

Take The Nest Step

Joe Miranda October 5, 2011

When you first started playing your guitar made by Stadium Guitars you probably did it with the intention of just learning for yourself. Learning how to play electric guitars and bass guitars either by taking lessons one on one, or by virtue of the Internet can only take you so far. Don’t get me wrong learning the basics is definitely the way to go but their is more to learn.

When you start jamming with your friends the whole world of music will open up for you, I know it did for me. Not only did we get to share each others electric guitars and bass guitars to see how they played, but more importantly we got to share each others music knowledge. If you decide to take it to the next step after you have been playing awhile you will get a rush like you have never experienced before.

When we were ready we took our guitar packages and started playing gigs. Being on stage with everyone listening just to you is an experience everyone should get to know. After doing that you can understand the psyche of professional bands.

The Wonderful World Of Wood

Joe Miranda October 4, 2011

Has anybody else besides me ever noticed the beauty and many uses for wood? It is sometimes disguised with color of a covering of some kind but when you look around it is with every single day.

The homes we live in are made of wood because of its strength, the kitchen cabinets are made of wood because of its strength and beauty. The furniture you sit on is also made of wood, even if it is an upholstered chair (the frame is made of wood).

Cheap electric guitars, cheap bass guitars share the same thing as expensive guitars do, you guessed it they too are made of wood. The body of your electric guitar can be made of numerous species of wood from alder, mahogany, and ash for the body, just to name a few, to maple and rosewood for the neck. Wood can be cutout to form any shape imaginable.

The Price Of Quality

Joe Miranda October 1, 2011

There are many people playing electric guitars and bass guitars out there. However too many have been brainwashed into thinking to have a quality guitar you must pay thousands for a top named brand, according to them it’s junk unless it is made by Fender or Gibson.

Now I’m not disputing these manufacturers are tops in their field, I own a Fender bass guitar myself, what I am saying you can pay a relatively low amount for either cheap electric guitars or cheap bass guitars and get great quality. There are quite a few aftermarket guitar manufacturers out there that make electric guitars that are great for practice as well as playing gigs. One of the things you can do is modify your guitar by changing out the pick-ups and other electronics to make it sound exactly like an expensive guitar without that expensive guitar price tag.

Music Is For Everyone

Joe Miranda September 29, 2011

Everyday people everywhere listen to music. I don’t care if you are old or young there is a music style for you. There are some people who not only listen to music but play either electric guitars or bass guitars also.

When you are a guitar player it is like double dipping, you not only listen to music, but you can play it also. It makes no difference if you play cheap electric guitars and play in the privacy of your own home or you play guitar in public, music is something to be enjoyed by everyone.

Another great thing about music is there is a music genre to suit everyone. Just as there is a vast amount of selection when it comes to listening to music, there is also a vast amount guitars to choose from, like Glen Burton Guitars, New York Pro Guitars, and Stadium guitars.

For Some It’s Effortless

Joe Miranda September 27, 2011

Cheap electric guitars are designs that are meant to copy the beauty and elegance of the expensive electric guitars they mimic. Teamed with the right guitar amplifier they can serve you well for a very long time.

You will find the same thing holds true for cheap bass guitars. Put anyone of these guitars in the hands of someone that can play well and they sound as good as the originals.

Which brings me to playing styles. There are some musicians that look like they are in pain while playing. They make it seem as though what they are doing is that difficult, when anyone with knowledge of playing guitar can do the very same thing. On the other hand there are others that make playing guitar look effortless.

The Best Guitar Player

Joe Miranda September 26, 2011

Who is The best guitarist around today? My answer to that is that depends on the kind of music that you are into. I don’t mean to be so vague about it but when you see peoples responses some agree and some go in the direction of the music they like. The guitar packages that each use doesn’t even come into play as just like the answers they vary greatly.

Angus Young of AC/DC is one name that seems to come up often, and why not. His electric guitar solos have kept our interest for more than thirty years, not to mention his patented duck walk. For my money you can’t beat Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton. They have been leaders when it comes to the art of playing guitar. I would also include Lindsey Buckingham in my list, with his finger-picking style of play that makes him one of the best.

The granddaddy of them all for me is Mark Knopfler. His achievements in music speak for them selves. He has played guitar with other artists such as Eric Clapton, and Chet Atkins (another one of my all time favorite guitar players). He has several honorary doctorates, and is 27th on the list of greatest guitarists of all time. He owns 70 guitars and is known to use several electric guitar packages to change his sound for each song.

What Does It Take To Be A Pro

Joe Miranda September 23, 2011

Many people just starting to play electric guitars and bass guitars don’t think they have what it takes to be a professional. They feel because they just started out, and play cheap electric guitars and cheap bass guitars they don’t have what it takes.

My answer to that is that statement is far away from the truth. First of all cheap electric guitars today are not cheap in the quality of the sound they have. I happen to know first hand that guitars made by New York Pro Guitars and Stadium Guitars are of the highest quality.

As far as the second part of that statement, most songs are not that difficult to play. You need to start jamming with a group of friends. There is a chemistry that starts to develop with the band, and people start to notice. One very important item, not all professionals having big record deals, playing local bars and special occasions takes a pro also. If you are getting paid for playing guitar, than you are a professional.

The Internet Advantage

Joe Miranda September 21, 2011

When I first had an interest in bass guitars back in the mid 1960′s it took much more of a commitment than it does today. The world of the Internet has put the world of guitars and all it’s information at every ones finger-tips.

Back then you were limited by the amount of knowledge your music teacher had, and the limit of the music store when it came to music books and musical instruments. I know for myself they had only one bass guitar in the store, and I purchased it.

Available on the Internet are electric guitar packages, and bass guitar packages, as well as individual bass, electric, and acoustic guitars. They’re available in many different colors and manufacturers. There are cheap electric guitars, cheap bass guitars as well as expensive ones. If you don’t want to learn how to play guitar from a teacher like I did, or a book the Internet has the Tabs on almost every song you want to learn. While Tabs is a great thing for established players new people going there sacrifice learning the basics for a fast way to play a song.

Guitar maintenance is made easier by the Internet also. It took quite a while to learn what the intonation meant on a guitar, where on the Internet that information and more is available.

Something To Share

Joe Miranda September 19, 2011

Thoughts of playing electric guitars and bass guitars fill your head, especially when you are watching or listening to your favorite band or guitar player. The purchase of electric guitar packages and/or bass guitar packages took you one step farther to your dream.

There’s one thing that happens when you enter the world of playing guitar, one thing that you never figured on, sharing. When you start jamming with a group of people the sharing begins. You get to try new electric guitars without purchasing them, you also get to share information and techniques that you have learned along the way. Oh yeah one more thing you get to share, it’s your knowledge of playing guitar with your children. I know from my personal experience it kept me close with my daughter who took up guitar, and we got to jam together.
