Multiple Gifts With One Purchase

Joe Miranda November 30, 2011
Are you undecided on what to get somebody for the holidays this year? How would you like to give multiple gifts to someone with the purchase of one?

Guitar packages are short for electric guitar packages, bass guitar packages, and acoustic guitar packages. Each guitar package contains the guitar of your choice, be it a bass or electric guitar or possibly an acoustic guitar. Along with the guitar of your choice is a guitar amplifier or bass amplifier according to which type of guitar you pick, and yes there is a difference. Those two items alone are enough, but there’s more. The guitar pack includes a guitar stand, case, tuner, and guitar polish and cloths.

How’s Your Acoustics

Joe Miranda November 24, 2011
Most people new to the guitar world opt to purchase electric guitars without even thinking about acoustic guitars. I guess in the world of rock it is more glamorous to them to own electrics rather than acoustic guitars.
Acoustic guitar packages come fully equipped with everything you need to start your music career and they offer one very important thing, they can be played with or without a guitar amplifier. If they ever stopped to actually look at an acoustic guitar they would see the beauty of the craftsmanship that goes into one of these guitars. From the inlays around the sound hole to the contrasting binding on the edge of the top it is plain to see an electric guitar is no match for the overall beauty of an acoustic guitar.

The title of this blog pertains to everyone I’m sure. Have you ever purchased something only to find out that you should have purchased something else to enhance that original purchase?

This applies to the purchase of electric guitars and bass guitars, especially if you are new to the world of music. When you get your purchase home and take it out of the box you realize you need a case to store it in, or a stand to place it on when you are not playing it. How about that guitar amplifier or bass amplifier, did you know enough to purchase that at the same time?

Guitar packages come in electric guitar packages, bass guitar packages, and acoustic guitar packages, and are the solution to your problems. These guitar packs come with everything that you need, they even include things you would not have thought of, like guitar tuners and guitar polish.

Guitar Packages Make Sense

Joe Miranda November 10, 2011
When you purchased that electric guitar did it come with a stand or a case? How about a guitar amplifier or a bass amplifier if you purchased a bass guitar, or a guitar tuner.

Those are a few of the things that are included in guitar packages when you pick one of them up. Guitar packages come in electric guitar packages, bass guitar packages, and acoustic guitar packages. They came be obtained with different size amplifiers for both bass and guitar. Guitar packages make great gift ideas because everything you need comes in one package, so whoever is receiving the gift only has to tune it and play it.

Soft Guitar Sound

Joe Miranda October 21, 2011

I don’t know about you but sometimes I just get tired of that twangy sound given up by electric guitars. Fortunately there are a few options for getting a different sound.

The guitar that mostly comes to mind is the acoustic guitars, that’s the one with the big sound hole in the middle of it. Many people don’t know these guitars can also be purchased electrified, meaning they are equipped so they can be played through a guitar amplifier or just by themselves.

Jazz guitars like the ones made by Glen Burton guitars are another way to get away from that conventional twangy rock sound. These electric guitars can be identified by their “F” holes. These guitars are also called semi-hollow electric guitars because some are completely hollow and some have a solid block of wood down the center of the guitar. If you take note as to some of the early bands that shaped rock and roll in the 1960′s, this was the type of guitar they used.

Hollow Body Guitars

Joe Miranda October 11, 2011

Hollow body electric guitars are in other words called semi-acoustic guitars. Don’t confuse this guitar with an electric acoustic guitar they are not the same.

Electric acoustic guitars are acoustic guitars with microphones to amplify the vibration, they can be identified by the large sound hole. A hollow body guitar is a guitar that has electronic pick-ups just like a solid body guitar along with a sound box like an acoustic guitar. With this type of guitar you can get a tone that you can’t get from a solid body electric guitar.

You might recognize these guitars by their familiar “F” holes in the body like the Memphis Jazz guitar made by Glen Burton Guitars. Although they can be played alone they are meant to be played electronically, through a guitar amplifier. When playing a hollow body guitar you must pay attention to the volume, they are prone towards feedback because of the “F” holes teamed with the electronic pick-ups.

The Acoustic Electric Guitar

Joe Miranda October 6, 2011

Acoustic electric guitars are incredible instruments, the sound you get from this kind of guitar is a sound that you can’t achieve from a solid body electric guitar. They are essentially an acoustic guitar with amplification.

This is done by incorporating a little microphone, normally at the bridge. It is able to amplify the vibrations made by the hollow body, something the pick-ups of a solid body electric guitars can’t do. The electrified sound that you hear is sent to a preamplifier before it goes to a guitar amplifier, this is done by a built-in equalizer with volume and tone controls. These equalizers can control up to six frequencies.

Acoustic guitar packages give you an acoustic guitar along with an a guitar amplifier, and all the additional guitar accessories you might need. Keep one thing in mind even with cheap electric guitars you get what you pay for, meaning the more money you spend the better the equalizer. Along with the better equalizer you will find the inlay work will be more detailed. When you compare acoustic guitars to electric guitars you will see for yourself the added workmanship in the bindings and inlays.

For Some It’s Effortless

Joe Miranda September 27, 2011

Cheap electric guitars are designs that are meant to copy the beauty and elegance of the expensive electric guitars they mimic. Teamed with the right guitar amplifier they can serve you well for a very long time.

You will find the same thing holds true for cheap bass guitars. Put anyone of these guitars in the hands of someone that can play well and they sound as good as the originals.

Which brings me to playing styles. There are some musicians that look like they are in pain while playing. They make it seem as though what they are doing is that difficult, when anyone with knowledge of playing guitar can do the very same thing. On the other hand there are others that make playing guitar look effortless.

Your Playing Needs

Joe Miranda September 2, 2011

If you are in the thought process of playing electric guitars there are several things that you should be thinking about. First is are you considering playing electric guitars, bass guitars, or maybe acoustic guitars.

Your next decision is what kind of playing will you be doing, will you be content just playing at home for yourself, or joining or starting a band and playing gigs. Depending upon your answer lies electric guitar packages and bass guitar packages with different size amplifiers to solve your questions.

Many people are under the idea that you need a big guitar amplifier to have a great sound, the truth is yes you do, but at what cost? If you plan on playing on an individual basis, or maybe jamming with some friends just for the fun of it I suggest staying with a 10w or 20watt guitar or bass amplifier, depending on what you are playing. Even if you do plan on playing gigs at some point these two are the perfect choice for starting out, you can always move up to a bigger amp as you get better.

How Much Is Enough

Joe Miranda August 17, 2011

Music is a very personal thing. Whether you are listening to it, or playing it using cheap electric guitars or high end guitars it is all a matter of taste, and sometimes economics. I bring up economics because most of us are not rock stars who can afford the best electric guitar packages that money can buy.

You need to assess the kind of playing that you will be doing. Some of us might be playing weekend gigs, and then there are some who play guitar just for themselves. If you weekend gigs or special occasions you might want to think about using an 80w guitar amplifier, if you just play for your own enjoyment you will find a 20w guitar amplifier is plenty enough for you.
